Alphabet Inc. has more than quadrupled its office space in Miami, expanding from 10,000 to approximately 45,000 square feet at the 1450 Brickell Avenue tower. According to sources, the deal for the new space in the city's financial district was signed in the spring. Google, which has maintained a presence in Miami for about a decade, did not comment on the matter.
The expansion follows substantial residential real estate acquisitions in South Florida by Alphabet's co-founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin. In the past year, Page purchased $188 million in property, and Brin bought a home for $51 million. While no longer holding executive positions, both remain on the board as controlling shareholders.
