The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) selected Alphabet Inc.'s Google to supply its Gemini for Government AI system. The platform, dubbed GenAI.mil, will serve roughly three million military and civilian employees. Google CEO Sundar Pichai noted the project is particularly significant, even given the company's long history of collaboration with the U.S. government. Pichai stated the system will increase government productivity by utilizing AI within Google's secure infrastructure.
