Waymo, the autonomous driving division of Alphabet, raised $16 billion in a new funding round.
The financing sets the company’s post-money valuation at $126 billion. This valuation marks a significant jump from the $45 billion recorded in the previous funding round in October 2024.
Dragoneer Investment Group, DST Global, and Sequoia Capital led the financing. Alphabet remains the majority investor, providing continued support.
Waymo will use the capital infusion to accelerate global scaling efforts. The company plans to expand autonomous ride-hailing services to 20 new cities in 2026. Expansion includes international markets such as Tokyo and London.
