Anthropic partnered with Macquarie Asset Management and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, GIC, to form Theseus Infrastructure. The new entity will develop, own, and operate large-scale data centers. Theseus will lease the facilities to Anthropic under long-term agreements to power its Claude AI models.
Macquarie and GIC will provide the majority of the equity funding for the projects. The venture will initially focus on developing sites within the United States.
Anthropic committed to covering any electricity price increases for local consumers caused by the data centers' power demands. This move fulfills a pledge the company made earlier this year. The partnership secures the dedicated computing capacity needed to meet rising demand for Anthropic’s AI services.
