Nexus Data Centers is in advanced talks to raise $15 billion from a group of banks. The financing will fund a massive AI campus and dedicated power plant in Texas for AI startup Anthropic.
Alphabet's Google is providing financial guarantees covering billions of dollars for Anthropic's lease and power payments. These guarantees protect the project in the event of a default by the startup.
The campus will feature Google's custom Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). In exchange for its support, Google is expected to receive an approximate 20% equity stake in the infrastructure project.
