A San Francisco federal judge dismissed two patent infringement lawsuits filed against Google by Valtrus Innovations Ltd. The court ruled the patent licensing firm lacked the legal standing required to sue.

Valtrus transferred all significant ownership rights to its parent company in 2021. This transfer occurred the same day Valtrus acquired the data monitoring patents from Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co.

The court concluded Valtrus held only a nominal legal title. This arrangement proved insufficient to maintain the infringement claims regarding data monitoring technology.
