Google launched Nano Banana 2 on Thursday as the successor to its existing AI image generation model.
The company is integrating the model into the Gemini app and Search’s AI Mode. It will also power features within Google Lens and the Flow video tool.
Nano Banana 2 provides faster performance and sharper image details. The model also features improved instruction-following capabilities.
This release aims to strengthen Google's competitive position against OpenAI’s ChatGPT in the artificial intelligence sector.
