Google and the government of Andhra Pradesh are set to sign a memorandum of understanding on October 14, 2025, for the development of a 1-gigawatt data center cluster in Visakhapatnam, India. This project represents a significant investment of approximately $10 billion and will be Google's largest direct investment in India's digital infrastructure. The data center campus, which will be one of the largest in Asia, is part of a broader initiative to establish Visakhapatnam as a global data hub and will support the region's advancements in Artificial Intelligence. The agreement is scheduled to be finalized in New Delhi and is expected to be a key driver of economic growth in the state, with operations targeted to begin by July 2028.
