Goldman Sachs Alternatives raised $11.7 billion for its latest private equity funds. This includes $9.6 billion for West Street Capital Partners IX, its ninth flagship buyout fund. The remaining capital will go to an Asia-focused fund and related co-investment vehicles.
Goldman Sachs raised capital from institutional and high-net-worth investors across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. The firm and its employees also made significant commitments.
The flagship fund has already deployed over a third of its capital. Investments span companies in cybersecurity, medical devices, and sports management. The firm plans to deploy the remaining capital over the next four to four-and-a-half years.
