SK hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung predicts the global memory industry will face its worst-ever supply shortage in 2027.
Kwak told Reuters that surging AI demand will outstrip production capabilities well into the next decade.
The company recently raised $26.5 billion in the largest-ever U.S. share sale by a foreign company.
SK hynix will use the capital to expand production capacity and build new facilities in South Korea.
The CEO issued this forecast following a successful Nasdaq debut where shares rose on the first day of trading.
