Iberdrola will invest approximately €4.5 billion (25 billion reais) in Bahia, Brazil, through its subsidiary Neoenergia. The company plans to deploy this capital into the state's electricity infrastructure by 2030.
The investment program includes the construction of 54 new substations. Neoenergia will also build thousands of kilometers of new transmission and distribution lines to meet growing demand.
Executive Chairman Ignacio Galán cited the recent 30-year renewal of distribution concessions as the catalyst for this investment cycle. This regulatory stability supports Iberdrola's long-term commitment to modernizing the regional power grid.
