IBM, Lockheed Martin, and the Swiss Federal Office for Defence Procurement (armasuisse) announced a quantum innovation hub at ETH Zurich. The initiative will bring Switzerland's first IBM Quantum System Two to the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) in Lugano. The system is expected to be operational by the end of 2026.
The hub aims to accelerate quantum technology research and development. It will provide access to Swiss industries, startups, and academic institutions. This collaboration builds on the existing relationship between IBM and Lockheed Martin. It focuses on advancing quantum computing, AI, and sensing technologies for aerospace and defense applications.
