An IBM-managed cloud environment for the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) suffered a security breach. The incident exposed the personal data of approximately 70,000 individuals.

Unauthorized parties accessed a dataset intended for development and testing of Singapore's property title registration system. The compromised information included real names, NRIC numbers, and property addresses.

SLA confirmed the dataset should have been anonymized but contained actual personal information. This affected environment is separate from live operational systems.

Property ownership records remain secure and were not impacted by the breach. IBM has revoked all access to the compromised environment to prevent further unauthorized entry.

SLA filed a police report and started notifying the affected individuals. An investigation is underway to determine why the test data remained unanonymized.
