IBM Launches Agentic AI Storage to Automate Management and Combat Ransomware

IBM launched its next-generation FlashSystem portfolio, introducing three enterprise systems: the FlashSystem 5600, 7600, and 9600. Agentic AI co-manages these systems to enable autonomous storage operations.

The release includes FlashSystem.ai, a suite of intelligent data services. A fifth-generation FlashCore Module provides hardware-accelerated, real-time ransomware detection.

These systems reduce manual storage management by utilizing AI agents as co-administrators. The new hardware delivers up to 40% greater data efficiency than previous generations.

This launch integrates AI deeper into IBM’s hardware to support enterprise AI workflows and mitigate expanding cyber threats.
