IBM has secured a multi-billion dollar indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract from the U.S. Missile Defense Agency. The company will provide advanced AI and security technologies to support the SHIELD program, a critical national defense initiative.

IBM also announced an investment in Anima, a startup focused on AI-powered product design. This move aims to integrate IBM’s AI capabilities deeper into enterprise workflows and digital product development.

These developments underscore IBM’s strategy to expand its AI presence across both high-stakes public sector projects and commercial enterprise applications.
