UK energy regulator Ofgem selected Invinity Energy Systems’ vanadium flow battery (VFB) technology for the Frontier Legacy project. This 520 MWh initiative will advance under the Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) Cap and Floor Scheme. Ofgem identified the use of Invinity’s VFB technology as a decisive factor in its selection.

The company considers this move a critical validation of its technology’s role in the UK grid. Invinity will now partner with Frontier Power to progress the project toward financial close. Management cautioned that there is no guarantee the project will reach completion in its current form.
