Intel, AMD, and Texas Instruments face a series of lawsuits alleging they failed to prevent their microchips from being used in Russian missiles and drones deployed against Ukrainian civilians. Dozens of Ukrainian civilians filed the suits.
The legal action accuses the firms of "willful ignorance" and "domestic corporate negligence." Plaintiffs claim the companies allowed the circumvention of U.S. sanctions, enabling technology resale to Russia. The filings cite five specific attacks between 2023 and 2025 that resulted in numerous casualties.
The companies have previously stated they comply with all sanctions and ceased operations in Russia. They attribute the presence of their chips in Russian military equipment solely to illicit and unauthorized shipments.
Intel has not immediately responded to requests for comment on the lawsuits. Initial reports detailed no specific market reaction.
