Intel officially launched its Xeon 600 processors for workstations, targeting professionals in AI development, engineering, and media creation. The new chip family utilizes the Granite Rapids architecture. This series replaces the previous Xeon W-2500 and W-3500 models. Intel designed the platform to compete directly with AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper Pro line.

The flagship model in the Xeon 600 series features 86 cores. Intel reports that this top-tier chip delivers up to 61% higher multi-threaded performance than the previous high-end generation. The platform includes expanded I/O capabilities and support for faster memory. These specifications optimize the hardware for simulation, rendering, and AI model training workloads.
