IonQ and utility provider EPB launched the IonQ Forte Enterprise quantum computer at the EPB Quantum Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The deployment establishes the first U.S. facility providing commercial access to both a quantum computer and a quantum network in a single location.
Researchers and partners including Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will use the hub to develop quantum algorithms.
Initial projects focus on optimizing Chattanooga’s power grid to demonstrate practical applications for the technology.
