IonQ has agreed to acquire privately held cybersecurity firm Elisity in an all-stock deal valued at up to $1.3 billion. The transaction includes up to $150 million in earnouts tied to Elisity’s future performance.
Elisity makes a platform designed to stop cyberattacks and ransomware from spreading within organizations. IonQ, which develops trapped-ion quantum computers, aims to integrate Elisity’s security technology as quantum computing and AI advance and cyber threats evolve.
Elisity CEO James Winebrenner is expected to remain with the company after the deal closes.
