Takeda reported positive topline results from the LATITUDE Atlas Phase 3 study. The oral TYK2 inhibitor zasocitinib proved statistically superior to Bristol Myers Squibb’s Sotyktu for moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. Over 35% of patients taking zasocitinib achieved complete skin clearance (PASI 100) at 16 weeks. This clearance rate is more than 2.5 times higher than the rate for Sotyktu.

Zasocitinib demonstrated superiority across all key secondary endpoints. The safety profile remained consistent with previous studies, with no new safety signals identified.

Takeda acquired the drug from Nimbus Therapeutics for an upfront payment of $4 billion. These results position zasocitinib as a potential best-in-class oral treatment in the autoimmune market. The data directly challenges Bristol Myers Squibb’s recently launched therapy.
