JD.com launched its Physical AI Acceleration Plan at the JD Global Technology Explorer Conference on September 9. The company plans to procure over 3 million robots over the next five years. It will also acquire 1 million autonomous vehicles to automate its supply chain.
The initiative focuses on developing embodied AI across six areas: data, manufacturing, logistics, sales, mechanics, and services. This strategy aims to create a fully automated logistics network from warehousing to final delivery. JD.com intends to establish a global operations hub for physical-world AI applications.
