China's National Medical Products Administration approved Johnson & Johnson’s nipocalimab treatment. The drug treats generalized myasthenia gravis, a chronic autoimmune disorder causing muscle weakness. This regulatory approval applies to patients aged 12 and older.

J&J acquired the treatment through its $6.5 billion purchase of Momenta Pharmaceuticals. The company completed this acquisition in 2020. Management expects the drug to serve as a significant revenue driver.

The treatment holds existing approvals in the United States, Japan, and Brazil. J&J has not disclosed pricing or a specific launch date for the Chinese market. Nipocalimab will compete with existing treatments from Hansoh Pharmaceutical Group and Argenx SE.
