Johnson & Johnson is investing over $1 billion to expand its vision care manufacturing and distribution operations in Jacksonville, Florida. The project will scale U.S. production of ACUVUE contact lenses to meet rising demand.

The expansion includes a new distribution facility featuring advanced manufacturing and packaging technologies. This initiative is part of a broader $55 billion commitment to U.S. research and manufacturing through early 2029.

Construction is currently underway at the site. The company expects the new facilities to reach full operational capacity in 2028.

J&J currently employs approximately 3,500 people in the Jacksonville area.
