Johnson & Johnson announced final Phase 3 PAPILLON study data for its drug RYBREVANT (amivantamab-vmjw). The trial evaluated RYBREVANT combined with chemotherapy as a first-line treatment for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations.
Patients receiving the combination therapy achieved a median overall survival of 34.3 months. Those receiving chemotherapy alone saw a median survival of 27.9 months. These results represent the longest median overall survival reported to date for this specific patient population.
The findings were presented at the IASLC 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer. Data showed 76% of patients in the chemotherapy group crossed over to receive RYBREVANT following disease progression. An adjusted analysis accounting for this crossover showed the combination therapy reduced the risk of death by 43%.
