JPMorgan Chase is launching a new investment banking team to manage mergers and acquisitions for companies valued between $100 million and $500 million. This initiative expands the bank’s reach into the small-cap space traditionally dominated by boutique advisory firms. The new group complements an existing middle-market team that handles deals ranging from $500 million to $2 billion.
The bank aims to capture a surge in business successions as baby boomer founders prepare to sell their companies. This strategy seeks to deepen relationships with commercial banking clients by providing specialized investment banking services.
The new team will consist of more than 75 professionals. JPMorgan will establish regional hubs in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York.
