The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a motion with the Eleventh Circuit court to prevent The Coca-Cola Company from using a recent 3M Co. legal victory as precedent.

This filing addresses an ongoing transfer pricing dispute regarding how Coca-Cola allocates income between its U.S. parent company and foreign subsidiaries.

Coca-Cola previously cited the 3M case to defend against a $6 billion court-ordered payment for unpaid taxes and interest.

The company faces an additional $14 billion in potential tax liabilities depending on the outcome of the current appeal.
