The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a federal lawsuit against The Coca-Cola Company alleging sex discrimination. The legal action focuses on a September 2024 networking event organized by the company’s northeast division.
The two-day event exclusively hosted approximately 250 female employees. It featured team-building activities and presentations from senior executives.
The EEOC claims the gathering unlawfully excluded male employees from career development opportunities. The federal complaint originated from a lawsuit filed by a male production employee.
In a separate strategic update, Coca-Cola’s CFO designated India as a top priority for accelerated investment. India currently represents the company’s fifth-largest market by volume.
