Peter Williams, the former head of L3Harris Trenchant, received a seven-year prison sentence on Tuesday. The Australian national pleaded guilty in October 2025 to two counts of theft of trade secrets.

Williams stole at least eight sensitive cyber-exploit components over a three-year period. The stolen software resulted in $35 million in losses for the company.

L3Harris developed these zero-day exploits exclusively for the U.S. government and its allies. Williams sold the tools to a Russian broker that services the Russian government.

Prosecutors stated the sale directly harmed U.S. intelligence and created a significant national security risk. A restitution hearing is scheduled for May.
