Li Auto appointed autonomous driving expert Zhai Yifei to lead its new humanoid robot division. Zhai replaces Lang Xianpeng, who departs two weeks after the unit's formation. Zhai reports to Ma Donghui, head of the smart car group.
The appointment follows an organizational shift where Li Auto split its autonomous driving department. The company merged a portion of that department with the smart space division and created the humanoid robot team. Zhai previously managed the BEV algorithm within the original autonomous driving unit.
