Li Auto established Xinchuang Zhixin (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. to house its semiconductor and AI chip operations. The new entity manages the full development cycle for the Mach M100 AI chip series.
These chips are currently in mass production for Li Auto's newest vehicle models. The subsidiary’s business scope includes integrated circuit design, R&D, and product sales.
The inclusion of sales capabilities suggests Li Auto may supply self-developed chips to external customers. This move mirrors competitor Nio’s strategy of spinning off chip divisions. Independent operations allow EV makers to increase focus and pursue separate financing opportunities.
