Lockheed Martin and the Department of War reached a framework agreement to quadruple production capacity for the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM). The expansion follows a $4.94 billion U.S. Army contract awarded last year. This initiative aims to ensure the U.S. military maintains a technological advantage over adversaries.

The PrSM replaces the aging Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) by offering extended range and improved lethality. U.S. Central Command confirmed the missile reached operational status during its combat debut on March 4. The weapon was first utilized during Operation Epic Fury.

The agreement includes a potential multi-year contract spanning up to seven years. This long-term production plan remains subject to congressional approval.
