Lam Research will invest over $3 billion over the next five years to expand its global research and development network. This initiative aims to increase the company's experiment capacity by more than 50%.

The investment integrates facilities across the U.S., Asia, and Europe to shorten product development cycles. CEO Tim Archer noted that AI demands new chip architectures and materials, making R&D velocity a key competitive advantage.

The expansion begins this year to support the development of next-generation semiconductors.
