Macy's will permanently close three facilities in Connecticut, eliminating more than 1,000 jobs. The move aligns with the company's broader strategy to streamline operations.

The closures target two locations in Cheshire, which function as a fulfillment center. A third facility in South Windsor will also close; this site houses both a Store Delivery Center and a Customer Returns Center.

Layoffs are scheduled to begin on March 14, 2026. The Cheshire facilities will permanently cut 993 jobs between March and August. The South Windsor closure affects 57 employees. This action follows a previous layoff at the South Windsor location several months prior.
