Mobileye founder and CEO Amnon Shashua will step down after 27 years leading the autonomous driving company. The board of directors has launched a search for a successor. Shashua will remain in his current role until a new leader is appointed.
This planned transition aligns with Mobileye entering a new growth phase. Shashua is expected to remain a director and has been offered the chairman position. In this role, he will oversee long-term technology strategy, including robotaxis and humanoid robotics.
The announcement arrived alongside Mobileye’s second-quarter earnings report. The company issued a weaker-than-expected forecast for the third quarter.
