Moovit, Mobileye's public transit data unit, is laying off approximately 60 employees. This represents 30% of its workforce. The job cuts stem from a broader restructuring.
Moovit will pivot away from its business-to-business (B2B) and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) operations. This strategic shift will focus Moovit's resources. The unit will support Mobileye's new initiative to operate its own robotaxi fleet in the U.S.
Moovit will now concentrate on fleet supply, demand optimization, and rider engagement for the autonomous taxi venture. This restructuring follows earlier reports this year. Those reports indicated Mobileye sought to sell the historically unprofitable app.
