Meta is set to acquire a 30% stake in a newly formed artificial intelligence subsidiary of Reliance Industries, with an initial joint investment of Rs 855 crore. The new entity, Reliance Enterprises Intelligence Limited (REIL), will focus on developing, marketing, and distributing enterprise AI services in India. Reliance Industries will hold the remaining 70% stake in the venture. The partnership aims to make enterprise-grade AI accessible to a wide range of Indian organizations, from large corporations to small and midsize firms. The offerings will include a platform-as-a-service for deploying generative AI models and a suite of pre-configured applications for various business functions. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated the venture would bring the company's AI models into "real-world use" in one of its most important markets.
