Meta Platforms announced a significant investment in nuclear energy to power its expanding artificial intelligence infrastructure. The company entered into landmark agreements with Vistra, Oklo, and TerraPower. The initiative aims to provide reliable, carbon-free energy for Meta's power-intensive data centers.

The partnerships focus on developing new advanced nuclear technologies. TerraPower will develop up to eight of its Natrium advanced reactors for Meta. Separately, Oklo will develop a 1.2 GW power campus in Southern Ohio to support Meta’s regional data centers.

These agreements will also fund the extension and expansion of operations at existing nuclear plants in Ohio and Pennsylvania. This investment highlights a growing trend among tech giants securing massive amounts of clean energy to meet the surging demands of AI development.
