Meta has begun testing a new subscription model for Facebook that targets users utilizing "professional mode" and Pages in the UK and US. The test, which started rolling out on December 16, targets features widely used by creators and businesses for promotion.

The new model restricts users to sharing only two links per month in posts. Exceeding this limit requires a fee, with the proposed subscription costing £9.99 per month for the ability to share additional links.

This move is part of Meta’s broader strategy to monetize platform features that were previously free, following the trend of bundling more services into its Meta Verified subscription tier. For affiliate marketers and other professionals, the change reinforces the idea that platform access is rented, not owned.
