Meta Platforms is reportedly planning to release a new pair of camera-free smart glasses this fall, according to a report from The Information. The new model, internally codenamed 'Luna', is designed to shift the focus from photo and video capture to direct voice interaction with the company's AI assistants.
This move appears to address the privacy concerns that have been associated with previous generations of smart glasses equipped with cameras. The device will allegedly feature six microphones to facilitate communication with Meta's AI chatbot and its recently released consumer AI agent, Muse. It will also have open speakers and a dedicated button to activate the AI assistant.
