Monika Bickert, Meta's head of content policy for over a decade, is leaving the company to accept a teaching position at Harvard Law School. Bickert, who joined the company then known as Facebook in 2012, has been a central figure in developing and enforcing the platform's rules and has often been the public face during controversies over content moderation.

Her departure was announced internally, and she will remain at Meta until August to ensure a smooth transition. Bickert will work with Kevin Martin, who leads Meta's global policy team, on the handover plan. Throughout her tenure, Bickert defended the company's policies, notably following the 2021 whistleblower revelations.
