The UK Gambling Commission accused Meta Platforms of ignoring illegal gambling advertisements across Facebook and Instagram.

A commission official claimed Meta provides "a window into criminality." The official stated Meta chooses not to remove the ads, despite their identifiability.

The regulator emphasized that unlicensed operator advertisements harm vulnerable people and benefit criminals. These ads increase fraud risk for consumers lacking legal protection. This activity conflicts with Meta's own policies, which require gambling advertisers to hold proper regional licensing.

A Meta spokesperson provided no immediate comment regarding the allegations.
