Merck will present new data from its HIV treatment and prevention pipeline. The company will present this data at the 26th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2026) later this month.
The presentations feature late-breaking primary efficacy and safety data. This data comes from two pivotal Phase 3 trials, ISLEND-1 and ISLEND-2. These trials evaluate an investigational once-weekly oral treatment.
Merck develops the combination therapy islatravir and lenacapavir with Gilead Sciences. This therapy targets adults with virologically-suppressed HIV-1.
Top-line results announced in June showed the trials met their primary endpoints. The trials demonstrated non-inferiority to daily standard-of-care treatments at 48 weeks. Merck will present the full detailed results at the conference.
Merck will also present Phase 2b data. This data covers another weekly combination of islatravir with ulonivirine.
Merck will host an investor call on August 3. The call will discuss its HIV program.
