Microsoft has acquired Osmos, an agentic AI data engineering platform designed to simplify complex and time-consuming data workflows. The acquisition addresses the challenge organizations face in preparing vast amounts of data for analysis, a process often manual and slow.

Osmos technology applies AI agents to raw data, transforming it into assets ready for analytics and AI. This integration occurs within OneLake, the unified data lake at the core of Microsoft Fabric.

The move reinforces Microsoft’s strategy to unify all data and analytics into the single, secure Fabric platform. Microsoft aims to accelerate a future where autonomous AI agents collaborate with people, reducing operational overhead and helping customers connect, prepare, analyze, and share data more efficiently.
