Microsoft’s AI division has named Andréa Mallard as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Mallard previously served as CMO at Pinterest. She will lead marketing for consumer-facing AI tools, including Copilot, Bing, and Edge, reporting to Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman.
The appointment accelerates the mainstream adoption of Microsoft’s artificial intelligence products. The hire aims to shape public perception of AI and build trust as the technology integrates into daily life.
This move occurs as Microsoft deepens its multi-billion dollar investment in AI. It also coincides with the deepening of Microsoft’s partnership with OpenAI. In a LinkedIn post, Mallard called AI "the most consequential technological shift of my lifetime," emphasizing the need for responsible leadership.
