Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced a major expansion of the company’s AI initiatives in India. Microsoft partnered with IT giants Cognizant, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Wipro for the collaboration.

The partnership involves deploying over 200,000 Microsoft Copilot licenses across the four firms. Each partner commits to deploying a minimum of 50,000 licenses.

The initiative centers on deploying agentic AI. This technology features systems capable of autonomous decision-making and insight generation.

This move aligns with Microsoft's broader plan to invest $17.5 billion in India's cloud and AI infrastructure over the next four years. The goal is to accelerate AI adoption within Indian enterprises and position the country as a key global AI player.
