Microsoft announced that Australian banking giant Westpac is rolling out Microsoft 365 Copilot to its entire global workforce of 35,000 employees and contractors. This deployment ranks as one of the largest Copilot rollouts in Australia. It is the biggest within the Asia Pacific financial services industry.
The deployment follows a successful pilot program involving 15,000 Westpac employees last year. The pilot reportedly improved business outcomes and productivity.
Andrew McMullan, Westpac's Chief Data, Digital and AI Officer, stated that AI is a strategic enabler for the bank. He noted AI helps employees work smarter and faster to focus on customer needs.
