OpenAI has unveiled ChatGPT Health, a new dedicated feature for users to discuss health and wellness topics. The tool allows users to connect personal medical records and data from wellness apps, including Apple Health and MyFitnessPal, to receive more personalized insights and information. OpenAI developed the service in collaboration with over 260 physicians, aiming to help users understand test results or prepare for doctor appointments.

The company emphasized that the feature is designed to support, not replace, professional medical care and is not intended for diagnosis or treatment. To address privacy concerns, health conversations will have enhanced encryption, be kept separate from the main chat history, and will not be used to train OpenAI's AI models. The service is initially rolling out to a small group of users with a wider release planned in the coming weeks.
