OpenAI announced it will provide its Daybreak cyber defense program to the Ukrainian government at no cost to help protect the country's civilian infrastructure. This move comes as Ukraine continues to face persistent cyber attacks targeting essential services like hospitals, the energy sector, and telecommunications. The announcement was made by OpenAI's Head of National Security Policy and Ukraine's Consul General on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. OpenAI's Daybreak program is designed to give defenders access to advanced AI for authorized security work.
