Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) finalized its $1.5 billion acquisition of D-Fend Solutions. This deal integrates advanced counter-drone capabilities into Motorola’s public safety and enterprise security portfolio.
D-Fend utilizes radio frequency cyber-takeover technology to safely land unauthorized drones in designated zones. This non-kinetic approach avoids the collateral damage associated with jamming or physical interception systems. The technology is currently deployed across more than 30 countries at airports, stadiums, and critical infrastructure sites.
Motorola plans to incorporate these systems into its broader ecosystem to provide comprehensive air-to-ground security. D-Fend CEO Zohar Halachmi will continue to lead the unit as a senior vice president within Motorola Solutions.
